With summer vacation approaching, businesses have enthusiastically donated a variety of gifts for children. The Heping Parent-Child Center received a donation of NT$300,000 to enhance its facilities and equipment, while 18 public infant daycare centers and parent-child centers received NT$300,000 worth of educational toys. Additionally, 100 children from disadvantaged families received summer epidemic prevention kits. A joint donation ceremony was held today at the Houli Parent-Child Center, where Social Affairs Director Peng Huaizhen represented the recipients and presented thank-you certificates, expressing gratitude to the generous enterprises and organizations for their dedication to public welfare, helping create a happier and more complete learning and growing environment for children.
Director Peng Huai-zhen emphasized that the parent-child centers provide a space for parents and children to learn, play, and grow together. The Heping Parent-Child Center is the first of its kind located in an indigenous area. Thanks to a NT$300,000 donation from the Rural Field Outdoor Leisure Professional Center, the center is able to enhance and refurbish its facilities. The parent-child center is also planning to purchase items such as traditional Atayal clothing and weaving machines to host local cultural courses, including traditional weaving, traditional dance, and Atayal cuisine.
Kon Mon Cultural Company, the Taipei Tsai Hsueh-ni Charity Foundation, and the Kon Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation jointly donated a batch of KUMON educational toys, including educational puzzles, tangrams, English and Chinese flashcards, and CDs with English and Chinese nursery rhymes, worth NT$300,000. These toys will be distributed to 18 parent-child centers and public daycare centers to inspire the diverse intelligence of young children.
