Deyu Education Group Partners with Amitofo Care Centre to Illuminate New Hopes for Education in Africa

Deyu Education Group CEO Chao, Wen-Yu has long been dedicated to global educational development, committed to providing services for all age groups. In the field of early childhood and youth education, the group fosters well-rounded and capable talents through the KUMON method. In addition to focusing on local education, the group actively cares for global education, contributing efforts to children worldwide.

On January 6, CEO Chao, Wen-Yu donated a batch of teaching materials and charitable funds to the Amitofo Care Centre (ACC). These donations will help support the educational development of children in Africa, bringing them hope and changing their future.

 

A Heartfelt Beginning, Illuminating the Future of African Children

The Amitofo Care Centre (ACC), founded in 2004, has now been in Africa for twenty years, establishing seven centers in six countries. It all began when Ven. Hui Li, during his search for land to build a temple in South Africa, witnessed the local poverty and decided to offer assistance to marginalized groups. In 2004, Ven. Hui Li established the first orphanage in Malawi, marking the start of the centre’s charitable and educational journey in Africa.

Over the past twenty years, the Amitofo Care Centre (ACC) has faced many challenges, but Ven. Hui Li and her team have remained sincere and kind, earning the trust of local tribes and governments. The association’s Executive Director, Chen Qianhui, a former member of the South African Parliament, fully understands the shortcomings of local policies and is even more determined in her belief that education can change destinies. To date, more than 100 students have studied in Taiwan and graduated from university, profoundly understanding the power of education and aspiring to give back to society, addressing legal and cultural issues in Africa. In addition, the centre organizes international tours every year, leading children out of Africa to exchange with children worldwide, broadening their horizons and inspiring them to pursue their dreams.

Upon learning about the centre's mission to promote education in Africa, Deyu Education Group CEO Chao, Wen-Yu was deeply moved. She actively proposed a plan to donate teaching materials to improve the local learning environment for children. The donated materials will be shipped to Africa and distributed in batches according to the needs of each center, further enhancing the educational resources available to local children.
